He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Evans and Viron Evans (Junior). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Evans (McDonnell); his brother Michael Evans; and his brother-in-law Rex McDonnell (Darla). He is also survived by friends and neighbors.

Once retired he joined his neighborhood tennis league, playing until 2018 when Parkinson's Disease made it unwise for him to continue.
