He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain Ted Smyer and Dorothy Moose Smyer. He is survived by: his wife Susan Hazelbaker; his children, Michael Smyer (Kayla) and Beth Smyer (Tom Haskell); his grandsons, William and Jack Haskell; and his siblings, Ted, Tim, Sue and Sally.
