He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed, Sr. Hanzelka and Sophie Knesek Hanzelka; his parents-in-law, Louis and Mary Fillip; his siblings, Christina (Albert Peterek), Edna (Emil Krizak), Mary (Ernest Peterek), Sophie (Erwin Zapalac) and Ed (Irene Hanzelka); his siblings' children, Mary Peterek Vern, Donna Peterek, Judith Ann Krizak Berger, Becky Zapalac, Darren Zapalac and Larry Peterek; his great-nephew Mark Vern; Lewis Fillip.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; and his sibling's children, Jeannette Peterek, Sonny Peterek, Bobby Berger, Buddy Peterek (Diane), Susie Peterek Zepeda (Jay), Frankie Peterek (Gayla), Marvin Peterek, Johnnie Peterek, Darlene Hanzelka Hayek (Jerry Gene), Linda Hanzelka Stancik (Ronnie), Edward Hanzelka, Cynthia Zapalac Montgomery, Dale Zapalac (Barbara) and Chad Zapalac.
