He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Matus and Vlasta Matus (Kral); his brother Jerry Matus; and his brothers-in-law, Eddie Joe Mynar and Tom Mynar.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Matus of West; his children, Melissa Kubitza (Joe) of West, John David Matus (Loren) of Cedar Creek and James Matus (Cassie Peterson); his grandchildren, Carley of West, Claire Kubitza (Michael Nors), Jordyn Matus, Kenzy Roberts, Kyndal Roberts, Callen Roberts, Brexon Matus and Jayci Matus; and his siblings-in-law, Fran Matus, Lori Neckar (David), Frances Mynar, Pat Mynar, Susan Matus, Monica Kaska (Alfons), Jeanette Maler (Kevin) and Annette Hykel (Victor). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School or a local charity of your choice.
