He was predeceased by: his mother Janet McCartney (Terry). He is survived by: his wife Heather McCartney of West; his sons, Tristan McCartney (Natalie) of Abbott and Cameron McCartney (Stefanie Necak) of Kyle; his grandchildren, Collins and Gus McCartney; his father Larry Joe McCartney; his brothers, Larry McCartney (Mary) and Gary McCartney (Missy); his parents-in-law, Tom Hlavenka (Connie) and Shirley Hill; and his brothers-in-law, Jon Hlavenka (Sharon) and Kevin Hlavenka (Laura). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for his grandchildren through Pointwest Bank.
