It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eva Schroeder of Wharton, Texas, born in Hamshire, Texas, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Melancon and Murmay Landry Melancon; her husband Charles Schroeder; and her son Clay Hlavinka. She is survived by: her children, LaCricia Hlavinka of Houston and Carl Hlavinka (Millie) of Wharton; her daughter-in-law Kimberly Hlavinka; her siblings, Beverly Chesson, Nellie Beebe and Ronnie Melancon; her grandchildren, Bryan, Kyle, Marissa Hlavinka, Lance Hlavinka, Kindra Rheinschmidt (Hlavinka) and Angelique Hlavinka-Maclain; and her great grandchildren, James, Layla Hlavinka and Wrenly Rheinschmidt.
