With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sam Gonzales of Wharton, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcelino Gonzales and Eusebia Rivera Gonzales; his wife Lydia Jaquez; and his siblings, Rachel Tope, Rosa Rangel, Ralph Gonzales, Roy Gonzales, Moses Gonzales, Emil Gonzales and Exsiquio Gonzales.
He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Alderete (Frank) of Needville; his siblings, Lois Alvarez, Lydia Dennis and Marcelino Gonzales, Jr.; and his grandson Joseph Mendoza (Jasmine). He is also survived by one great grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.
