He was predeceased by: his parents, N. Belle Capps (Deaver) and J. Willis Capps; his former wives, Emma Bea Wood and Bea Capps; and his siblings, Wanda Gregg, Loreta Owen, Kenneth Capps, Wallace Capps, Melvin Capps and Donald Capps.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Capps; his son Kevin; his daughter-in-law Peggy Capps of Houston, Texas.; and his brother Jimmy Capps of Dumas, Texas.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
After retiring, he joined the Telephone Pioneers Club which performed several volunteer charity projects.
