He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Wallace Peden and Dorothy Dale Watson Peden; his son Barry Peden; his sister Charlotte Starks; and his grandson Carlton Westbrook.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Haynie (David) of Midland, Wendy Schroeder of Lewisville, Texas and Laura Hamill Peden of Archer City; his stepdaughters, Carla Scrogum (Kevin) of Olney, Anne Post (Steve) of Abilene and Kellie Westbrook (Wesley) of Gorman, Texas; and his siblings, Carol Waddell (Otis) of Arlington, Texas and Danny Peden of Durango, Colorado. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Aulds Funeral Home (307 S Center St, Archer City, TX 76351). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Archer City (225 S Center St, Archer City, TX 76351). A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at the Joy Cemetery.
