He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Blackshear and Ruth Cooke Boothe; and his siblings, Robert Lynn Blackshear and Patricia Evonne Blackshear. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Blackshear; his children, Deedra Grantham (Todd Grantham) of Tuscola, Loy Newton (John Newton) of Lancaster and Perry Blackshear of Ballinger; his grandchildren, Jennifer Martin (Tad Martin), Allie Lunsford (Brandon Lunsford), Megan Blackshear, Jasmine Blackshear, Brittany Blackshear, Jordan Newton and Alexis Sanders (Jackson Sanders); and his siblings, Roy Keith Blackshear, Linda Joyce Elstad and Ruth Ann Burnham.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by spending time with family, telling a good story, enjoying the outdoors, or playing a round of golf, just as he loved to do.
