He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. and Mary E. Capps; his former wife Doris I. Crank Capps; his sons, David A. Capps and Roger M. Capps; and his grandson J. P. Capps.
He is survived by: his wife Carmen Capps; his daughter Glenda Stewart (Gerald); his grandchildren, Cindy Lynch (Doug), Jeremy Stewart (Kaytlyn), Nathan Stewart (Stephanie) and Addison Capps; his great grandchildren, Riley, Madelyn, Lochlan and Jasper; his stepsons, Douglas Westmorland and David Westmorland; his stepgrandchildren, Alex Westmoreland (Molly) and Katie Pechacek (Cory); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jack, Jane and Avery Lynn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Christian Church.
