“The death of this boy has weighed heavily on my mind. When we moved here four years ago, he was among the first to befriend my oldest son. They didn't stay friends, but you don't forget the kindness of the first people who reach out to you when you are new. I met his mother when I took my son over to hang out. The boys stayed friends for about a year and then drifted apart. But when I heard the news my heart broke for this mother having to endure such terrible sadness. I'm so sorry for your loss.”
