He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda B. Vargas; his parents, Trinidad Vargas and Manuela Vargas; his siblings, Paula Lopez, Virgilio Vargas, Dora V. Mendoza, Adelmira Flores and Juanita Vargas; and his in-laws, Silvestre and Guadalupe Bustamante.
He is survived by: his children, Almicar Vargas Jr. and Arlina Vargas; his grandchildren, Mia Idalia Zavala and Cristobal Miguel Zavala; his siblings, Gloria Neri (Fernando), Tina Coronado (Amado), Velia Rodriguez, Noemi Saucedo (Rogelio), Clemente Vargas and Sandra Gaona (Juan); and his nephew Ray Lopez Jr.. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (1609 Glenn St, Zapata, TX 78076).
