He was predeceased by: his son Noe Barrera; his parents, Manuel Barrera and Amanda Vela; and his sister Leticia Alma Barrera. He is survived by: his wife Ramona S. Barrera (Mona); his grandchildren, Jose D. Medina III (Jessica Costabella), Roberto R. Medina (Clarissa Ubalde), Carlos N. Medina, Isabella Jo Medina, Omar D. Barrera, Miguel A. Salinas (Valeria Garcia), Alberico Salinas, III (Alexis Alvarez) and Marco G. Barrera; and his sister Diana Araiza (Jose). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews.
