He was predeceased by : his parents, George Seward Kennington and Martha Emma Weber Kennington; his son Ronald; and his siblings, Winston, Bernice, Clarissa, Garth, Gwen, Gordon, Beverly, Forrest, Audine, Eugene, Ruth and Martha.

He is survived by : his wife Helen McMullin; and his children, Teresa, Robert (Mary), Alyce, Lori Johansson and Jill Newby (David). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
