He was predeceased by: his brother Richard. He is survived by: his sons, Morton Francis Kaatz and Idamae Gordon Kaatz; his wife Carol; his children, Gabriel Kaatz (Jonna Scaringa) and Audrey Kaatz White; his brother Stanley Kaatz (Kathy); and his stepchildren, Rachel Denning (Greg), Ryan Christensen (Melinda), Rebecca Clayton (Rob), Roxanne Christensen (Chris Knoles), Rhett Christensen (Heather) and Riley Christensen (Lee). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
After Covid changed the ease of travel, they bought a motorhome to live in.
