He is survived by: his half-siblings, Jesse Mansanarez, Tracy, Johny, Blake, Jesse Valdez and Elena ValdezMaycock; his sister Teresa Valdez Gardner; and his children, Amanda Valdez and Joseph Valdez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grandchildren as well as some great grandchildren.
