He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Roy Sedgwick and Alberta Leona Porter; his brothers, Allen Earl Osborne and J. William Taylor; his nephews, Bruce Don Taylor and Brian J. Taylor; and his friends, Gerald and Lynda Bettger.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Lynne; his children, Lauralyn Sedgwick, Nicholas Sedgwick and Don Sedgwick, Jr. (Darci); and his grandchildren, Kennady Henrie (Dilon), Kassady Sedgwick, Chance Sedgwick and Emberlynne Sedgwick.
