She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Moore (Mildred Moore) and Mildred Moore; and her son Adrian (Jamie). She is survived by: her husband Joe VandeMerwe; and her children, Joe VandeMerwe (Kari), Laurie Brosie (Ron), Audrey Buttars (Greg), David VandeMerwe (Kim) and Rob VandeMerwe (Liz). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
