He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Walter Wilson and Elna Hacking Wilson; his son Collin C. Wilson; his grandson Conor S. Wilson; his brother Joseph Wilson; and his brother-in-law Merrill Myers.

He is survived by: his spouse Dawna Lou Butt; his children, Shon W. Wilson (Shelli) and Ryan E. Wilson (Nacole); and his great grandchildren, Marlyn Wilson (Denise), Woneva W. Myers, Victoria W. Chambers (Wayne), Sandra Wilson, Alec Wilson (Kylee), Kate Wilson, Brody Wilson, Rylee WIlson, Amelia Jo, Scottie Lou and Nash Everlee. He is also survived by his wife, children, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, grandchildren.

Elroy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 5-years ago and sadly started losing his abilities.

“I'm Mike Lieber. I owned Family Auto Center in Bountiful. I was just thinking about Elroy this morning and saw he had passed away. I first saw Elroy at the sand drags by the Great Salt Lake. A friend of mine raced and I worked on his Jeep. I was intrigued by his fast Buick engines. When I moved to Bountiful to open my shop I stopped by his shop to talk, he was so amazing. I consider him a good friend. We talked about cars, life, his faith and things I cherish to this very day! I will miss him.”
