He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Unger Thomas and Dora Mae Taylor; and his siblings, Harry, Dean and Helen.

He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Evan (Sabrina), Alonzo, Amie (Chris), Alisha, Merica (Dave) and Erin (Ben); and his siblings, Arta and Jay. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren.
