John Roger Kunz Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Roger Kunz (Bountiful, Utah), born in Bern, Idaho, who passed away on April 15, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber Kunz and Marie Kunz (Clark); his son Darrell; his grandsons, Brett Kunz and John McKay Kunz; and his brothers, McKay, Leland, Lyman, Thiel and Charles.
He is survived by: his children, Burton Kunz (Lisa), Ronald Kunz (Nancy), Vernon Kunz (Kellie) and Elaine Nelson (Lee); and his grandchildren, Ashley Sorenson (Greg), Burton John Kunz, Jr., Sarah McCormick (Daniel), Bradley Kunz, Bryce Kunz (Annie), Jeremy Nelson (Aina), Sarah Winiecke (Tyler), Taylor Kunz, Camilla Nelson, Alex John Kunz, Michael John Nelson, James Kunz (Kannon) and Adrianna Kunz. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bountiful 25th Ward (1500 S 600 E, Bountiful, UT 84010).
He also put his money where his mouth was as he gave contributions to young men and women for their missionary funds, explaining to them that adding to their funds is a way to show their faith and to let the Lord know that they are really serious about serving.
