He was predeceased by: his half-sisters, Margaret Jenkins and Cleone Nichols; and his sister Vivian Harris (Burton). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Wilcox; his brothers, Dr. Murray C Nichols (Rose Marie) and Eugene LaVoy Nichols (Tammy); and his children, Susan Lee, Steve Nichols (Dayna Favero), Teresa (Bruce Garrett), Shelly (Dale Heward), Linda (Marc Urmston), Brent Nichols (Tiana Gabbitas), Jill (Rory Violette) and Eric Nichols. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning for family members only due to COVID restrictions.

“My Mom is Gloria Nichols, Delos Nichols' daughter (niece of Dell Nichols). I was burned very badly from the sun, blisters on blisters. I told my mom I need a blessing. She took me to Carroll Nichols' house, a neighbor came over, they blessed me. That night I stared at my shoulders waiting for them to vanish, but was distracted by the TV. My sister came in and screamed! She said: Scott! Your blisters! They're gone! I will never forget it. 100% healed. Love to your family. --Scott Simpson”
