He was predeceased by: his father George William; his grandparents, Clarence and Pearl Poulsen; and his nephews, Brandon Richan, Travis Richan and Adam Anderson.

He is survived by: his mother Merle Claree Poulsen Richan; his wife Stephanie Diane Orner; his son Tatlund Jay Richan; his siblings, Kevin Richan, Julie Ross and Joyce Bott; and his half-siblings, George Richan, Angela Richan and Jamie Jo Smith.
