He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ilmari Johnson and Laura Leona Putnam Johnson; and his brothers, Bill, Ron and Ken.
He is survived by: his children, Elden David, Greg, Laurel Savage (Ben), Noreen Templin and Angela Ray (Keven); his wife Barbara; and his siblings, Janet (McKeon), Dan, David and Terry. He is also survived by children, and grandchildren.
