He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Valenzuela and Mary Ortiz; his children, Rubin and Sandra; and his wife Sylvia.

He is survived by: his children, John (Sylvia), Gilbert (Maria), Jason and Terry Soto (Jimmy).
