She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph N. Whitney; her parents, Joseph Hamson and Martha Hamson; and her siblings, John Hamson and Elizabeth Hamson.
She is survived by: her brothers, Jim Hamson (Carolyn) and Daniel Hamson (Ginny); her children, Gary Whitney (Pam), Kathy Scranton (Richard), Carrie Whitney (Jane) and Daniel Whitney (Jennifer); and her grandchildren, Kristi Whitney, Katrina Mai, Ryan Whitney, Kassie Livesey, Josh Probst, Dani Blum, Austin Whitney, Hallee Whitney, Ashlynn Whitney, Mykel Johnson Fisher and Ethan Tate.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home (646 E 800 N, Orem, UT 84097). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A faithful member of Hillside Methodist Church in Sandy, Utah, Marty joyfully served as a greeter, faithfully driving each Sunday—rain, snow, or sunshine—until the pandemic confined her to home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Simi Valley Rotary in her memory.
