He was predeceased by : his wife Enid Louise Lauritzen; his parents, Edward Eugene and Gene Lovell Gardner; his siblings, Ted, Artemisia, David, John, Muriel and Ron; and his son William Rex Gardner.

He is survived by : his sons, Neil and Garth; his great grandchildren, Alexis and Summer; and his brother Larry Gardner. He is also survived by 5 brothers and 2 sisters, as well as many beloved cousins.
