She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Poole McFarland and Bonnie Jean Duthie McFarland, her nephew Jared Budzenski, and her brother-in-law Wayne Tew.

She is survived by her children, Brian Thomas Ristelhueber, Bonnie Anne Ristelhueber (partner Derek McConnell) and Bradley Michael Ristelhueber; her brother Thomas McFarland, Jr. (Janet); her sisters Kathleen Rose (Gary) and Michelle Tew (late husband Wayne); nephews and nieces: Thomas McFarland III, Jacob Vawdrey McFarland (Brooklyn), Dot Ivie (Christopher), Maranda Hawkes (Rich), Sami Rose, Ashley Sebesta (Bryan), Courtney Miles (Bentley), Chelsea Ottosen (Curt), Lacie Maisey (Thomas), Heidi Tew and Emily Tew, and her
great-nieces and nephews: Noelle and Leo Ivie, Ozzy McFarland, Penelope and Matilda Hawkes, Matthew and Jane Sebesta, Maylie, Porter, Bridger, Angus and Sawyer Miles, and Kypton Ottosen.

At one school, she helped the middle school orchestra teacher by repairing the students' violins, also donating instruments she had restored.
