Lynn Kimball Jones Backman Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lynn Kimball Jones Backman (Draper, Utah), leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Valden Kimball and Gwendolyn Hale; her former husband David Brent Jones; and her brothers, Delmar and Lyle Kimball.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Backman; her children, Heather Steed (Jason), David Jones and Brinly Nearon (James); her grandchildren, Savannah, Ren, Erin, Gavin Steed, Emily, Matthew, Christopher and Ashley Nearon; her stepchildren, James Backman (Cindy), David Backman (Myriam), Jonathan Backman (Natalie), Stephen Backman (Claudia), Heidi Phelps (Darin) and Joseph Backman (Heather); her foster son Martin Navratil (Kimberly); and her siblings, Jean Scothorne (late Doug) and Kirby Kimball (Nena). She is also survived by her children, stepchildren, and grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, at 7:30 PM, on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM and at 10:45 AM at the South Mountain Stake Center (1911 E Gray Fox Dr, Draper, UT 84020). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery (3401 S Highland Dr, Millcreek, UT 84106).
