He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sharon Hatch, Seth Pettit and Neva Pettit. He is survived by: his parents, David John Pettit and Sharae Pettit; his wife Tracy Pettit; his son Edwin Pettit; his pets, Stella and Wendell; and his siblings, Marshall Pettit (Shelbi), Brady Pettit (Shantel), Brett Pettit (Jennifer) and Makaylee Racker (Joel). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

After graduating, Scott began working at Summit Academy, where he served in many roles, including that of a teacher, assistant principal, debate coach, director of safety, director of transportation, bus driver, director of facilities, grant writer and covid specialist.

He truly embodied charity—the pure love of Christ.
