Gay and Norene Whitehead Gay; his children, Amanda Joy Merzlock (Braxton) and John William Gay II; his stepdaughter Geneva King (Loai Adhami); and his siblings, MaryJan Munger (Casey), David Gay (Natalie), Robert Gay (Jackie), Alan Gay, Andrea Gay and Melissa McLaughlin (Jon). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
