He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Defa and Nettie Defa (Lazenby); and his sisters, Joy, Lena and DaVonna.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Defa; and his children, Heidi Gines (Joel) of Hanna, Utah, Pam Lefler of Hanna, Utah and Luke Defa (Idawna) of Hanna, Utah.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
