He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sherwood and Gwendolyn Bowen Butterfield; his wife Cathy; his daughter Betty Michael; and his great grandchild Zoe Lyn Day.
He is survived by: his children, Trisha, Andrea, Lynn (Nadine), Kim, Jamie (Myreen), LeAnn (Dave), Rick (Tara), Nicole (Brandon) and Natalie (Jason); and his brothers, Cloyd Butterfield (Saida) and Cleon Butterfield (Marci). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
