He was predeceased by: his parents, Melissa Vilma Montgomery and Donald Miller Mecham; his stepfather Max V. Tanner; his parents-in-law, Avanell and Rulon Darrington; and his sister Kathleen "Sissy" Tanner.

He is survived by: his wife Malawna Mecham; his brothers, Dick Mecham and Kerry "John" Mecham; and his children, Tracie (Rorque Wood), Julie Mecham (Pedja), Matt Mecham (Leslie), Natalie Mecham, Andrew Mecham, Jamie (Brandon Haynes), Philip Vilone Mecham, Josh (Stephani Lyon), Jed (Ashley Lyon) and Gabrielle "Gabbi" (Ashley Saverino). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
