He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfield Burton and Almira Burton; his wife Luella Beth Hoopes Burton; and his siblings, Leah Ashby, Marie Hokanson, Paul Burton and Lloyd Burton.
He is survived by: his children, Blair Burton (Vicky), Brent Burton (Amy), Lance Burton (Shayne), Wade Burton (April), Bruce Burton (Kendra), Myrna Groom (Eric), Marsha Joss (Eric) and Wynn Burton (Danielle Miller); and his siblings, Nola Dayley, Almira Despain, Wilmer Burton, Cleone Black, Claire Lambson and Mark Burton. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Smoot Wyoming LDS Chapel (3166 WY-241, Afton, WY 83126). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (3166 WY-241, Afton, WY 83126). A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at the Afton Cemetery (1199 Madison St, Afton, WY 83110).
