He was predeceased by : his parents, Homer Clarence and Ruby Lodema Watters Ames; his son Kevin Lee Ames; and his siblings, Monte Marshall, Joann Sorter, Homer Thomas Ames, Ronald Christensen, Douglas Christensen and Kenneth Christensen.

He is survived by : his wife Brenda Fay Smith; his children, Danny Shane Ames (Victoria), Travis Lee Ames, Joseph and Kimberlee Dawn Bailey (Brad); and his siblings, Darlene Wright (Dean), Carl Ames, Joseph and Della Martell (Ray). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
