He is survived by : his father Michael Cheney; his wife Laurie Cheney; his children, Shaelynn Hass (Brandon), James Cheney (Angela) and Aurora Cheney; his siblings, Eva Cheney, Ryan Mikie Cheney (Kat) and Crystal Hahn (Mike); and his grandmother Ruth Rose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at America First Credit Union in Erik's name.
