He is survived by: his wife Judi; and his children, J. D. Nielsen (Melissa), Krista Nielsen, JoLyn Nielsen, Andrew Nielsen (Ania) and Brea Wentz (Derek). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
