Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Gary for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton Ray Cockerham and Mattie Zula Ray; his brother Don; and his son Marcus. He is survived by: his wife Nola; his daughters, Alice Lemon (Richard) and Katherine "Kate" Gundlach (Nathan); his brother Alan (Cathy); Pierco Cockerham (Marcus). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, many other extended family members and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all who wish to honor Gary's memory to take some time to work on their own family history.
