He was predeceased by : his parents, Rose Maes and Antonio Maes; his stepfather A. J. Smith; his brothers, Ted and Tony Maes; and his brother-in-law Arnold Gallegos.
He is survived by : his wife Barbara Maes; his children, Mark Maes (Sheri) of Layton, UT, Pamela Smith (Brian) of Illinois and Patrick Maes (Annie) of Salem, OR; and his sisters, Linda Smith of Alamosa, CO and Susan Gallegos (Arnold) of Alamosa, CO. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
