He was predeceased by: his parents, Christopher Moses Higgs and Florence Ann Hardman; and his siblings, Dell, Junior, Joseph, Jane, Bessie, Bertha, Arvel, Annie, Alice and Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Maurine Flint; his children, Kim (Stacie), Trent (Lori), Troy (Heidi), Tamara Manning (Greg), Randy, Cory (Staci), Amy Boatright (Justin), Brian (Julie) and Matthew; and his brothers, Jerald, Allen and Eugene. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
