He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Gipson and Shirley Gipson. He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Dawn Williamson (Joel) and Wayne Gipson (Julie); his grandchildren, Christopher, Grace, Grant Gipson, Van and Ash Williamson; and his siblings, JoAnn Dodson, Billie Gipson, Kelly Gipson and Sammy Gipson (Mel).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ASPCA or Make a Wish Foundation.
