He was predeceased by: his parents, Darwin Wayne and Norma Dickson Sims; his grandson Chad K. Cottle; and his siblings, Harvey Thomas "Tom" Sims and Joleene "Jodie" Sims Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sims; his children, Scott R. Sims (Lainie), Karen Cottle (Shawn) and David W. Sims (Kristen); and his siblings, Sheila Porter (Stan), Beki Barlow (Brett) and Lisa Ence (Russ). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kaysville Crestwood Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (855 E Mutton Hollow Rd, Kaysville, UT 84037).
