He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin D. Foster and Maude V. Chugg Foster; his wife Willa Carlile; and his brothers, Max and Joseph.

He is survived by: his children, Cathy Bassett (Richard), Ken (Linda), Brent (Jan) and Michael (Cindy). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
