He was predeceased by: his mothers, Alma Mercer and Verna Carson Peterson; his wife Melva "Jean" Shoell Peterson; and his brother-in-law William "Bill" Powell. He is survived by: his sons, Lonne Kent Peterson (Lorraine) and Layne Alma Peterson (Diane); and his sisters, Kaye Powell and Vea Lynn Jarvis (Ken). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
