He was predeceased by: his parents, David William Holmes and Genevieve Otterson Holmes; his brothers, David Rex Holmes, Ferris Eldon Holmes, Gary G. Holmes and Dan Ray Holmes; and his stepdaughter Mollie Cunningham Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Lana Faye Cook Holmes; his siblings, Dick Holmes of Washington, GenaVee "Sis" Campbell (Dale) of Colorado and Jeanine Cook (Calvin) of Cedar Fort, Utah; his children, Justin Bud Holmes (Lisa) of Orem, Utah, Lec Don Holmes (Kim) of Lehi, Utah, Paige Holmes of Scenic, Arizona and Ty Shine Holmes (Marlo) of Lehi; and his stepdaughter Deana Ballow (Bret) of Levan. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
