He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith Eggleston and Talitha Cuma Cheney; his siblings, Alice Christine, Joseph Wesley, Lola, Selar Orland, Laura, Melvin C. and Dale Lavar; his wife Joan; and his child Etienne.

He is survived by: his children, Paul Eggleston, Karen Stark (Cary), Jan Rescia (Daniel), Tracy Sparks (Jack Randall) and Brent Eggleston (Lisa). He is also survived by his five children, fifteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
