He was predeceased by: his parents, David Bernell Bateman and Hazel Charlotte Peck; his wife Ellen May Calton; and his siblings, LaVar, Kenneth, Ralph and LaVee Barnhart.
He is survived by: his children, Jayne Pugh (Rick), Keith Bateman (Margaret), Gaye Beecroft (Doug) and Molly Bateman; and his sister-in-law Doreen Bateman. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
