He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Nielson and Ruth Nielson; his brother Kirt; his brother-in-law Paul Reid; and his sons-in-law, Cody Jones and Steve Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Wells; his children, Lynn Johnson (Steve), David Nielson (Magda), Gina Hall (Vic) and Jarad Nielson (Cyndi); and his siblings, Carolyn Reid (Paul), Reid Nielson (Helen) and Margo Erickson (Rod). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
